Visit from Alabama and Honduras!

 

Rolan Edwards from Alabama and friend Omar from Honduras came and spent the day with us Friday! We enjoyed getting to spend time with both of these guys! They have been traveling and ministering in the Name of JESUS to people throughout Honduras and Costa Rica! They took a little time out of their busy schedule to come see the camp center and visit with us!

Forward Camp center!

 

This has been a great week here in Costa Rica at the camp! GOD has blessed us with health and safety thank you for praying for us! This square Franklin Miguel and james are working in is our future kitchen! In GODS eyes this camp center is up and running, but we are human and see slow progress! It takes a lot of faith to do GODS work, but it is the best business to be in!

 

james got to use tools this week! First of all he was able to use a small side grinder they have to sand the walls getting them ready to be plastered. Then he helped cook and was using sharp knives, plase keep praying for James' safety!

 

James how is the view down there!? This is what our kitchen looked like as I was on the second floor looking down!

 

I am going to need a kitchen what do you think? This where we cook right now in the meantime is right in the middle of everything and gets just a little dusty and grimy! I am thankful but look forward to having an actual kitchen soon!

WORKING? STUDYING?

 

Welcome to the Taller del Maestro camp site! Alice and Nancy are with us this week serving JESUS the master at this workshop!

 

Alice has been helping James get his homework this week!Today is chldrens day here in Costa Rica so James had a short day of studies!

 

Nancy and I scrubbed the floor in the mens bathroom to get ready to lay tile hopefully this week!

 

Alice and Nancy helped scrape this used tin we will be putting on the kitchen roof! Thank you and GOS bless you guys for helping on the camp center!

3-2-1 action!

 

 

GOD has been so good to send just the right people to the Camp and at precise moments, we are amazed! We have been working on the spring and now it has a concrete cover and lots more rocks as a bed to keep the water fresh and clean, and a beautiful trail, all built by these wonderful hands! These guys worked so hard Miguel Geovany and Wilbur along with Franklin! They were sweaty and tired but happy with the job well done!

 

Ralph and Cindy came out to visit with Rachel and Hannah, and our Rachel was with us too was a wonderful visit and very encouraging that people come, and pray for us and support what GOD has called us to do!

 

You have been a great part of what we are doing, you can pray and we know GOD has done it! We may never talk but if you talk to GOD for us HE is busy making all those perfect connections, KEEP PRAYING< KEEP GIVING< COME WHEN YOU CAN! GOD uses evey little thing we give HIM every day to make a difference in the lives of those around us! You may not think you are gifted but GOD has a job that only you can do!

Mary and James recieved the news today that school in all of Costa Rica will be out one more week because of the swine flu! So pray that GOD will keep our children safe and that we can minister in this critical time in Costa Rica and around the world!

What does Franklin do?

 

 

Well this is some of what Franklin did all in one day! We were working on the septic system, but it rained so while we waited for the ground to dry out Franklin put the last of the tin on the tip top of the roof! Now it stays dry inside!

 

Then Franklin was on bat control! We have trouble with the bats flying in our room at night so Franklin and I put some screens on the little windows! The wood we used for these windows was cut in Kentucky when Franklin was 15! How is that for GOD HE knew all along we would use it here in Costa Rica to build a camp center! These are the scraps after Franklin made a bunk bed out of the bigger pieces!

 

On to the septic system! We are glad to have a real bathroom, no more late night runs to the outhouse!

Welding and painting building a camp center!

 

Franklin was able to build this steel door for the secure room where the generator and tools will be kept safe!

 

We have had 2 men named Carlos helping out at the Camp Center for about 2 months now. Yesterday Gerardina wife of the one Carlos and mother of Carlos Pollo came to see the camp center for the first time! I was painting the outside wall to prevent water from seeping into our building so she grabbed a brush and helped!

Kenny and Brenda Lee in Costa Rica!

Kenny and Brenda Lee and their son Brady and his mother in law visited the camp site today! Thank you for your visit!

Mary called from her high school as we were on our way out to the camp site so we stopped by and picked her up to go out with us on her lunch break! James had just gotten out of class so we picked him up on our way down, his school is within a mile of the Camp. We praise the LORD that Mary and James are doing well in school thank you for your prayers for them and for the work we are doing in the NAME OF JESUS!!

What I saw through the lens today~

These beautiful birds visited us at the camp site today! We saw 4 Toucans this morning. It was a wonderful experience only GOD can give through His beautiful creation!

 

This tree is in full bloom. It is right at the entrance to the camp center. It grows apples but not the kind we all are used to they are called water apples. They should be ready to eat in a month or so!

 

Franklin and Miguel were pumping water this morning. The spring we found is about 50 meters from the building site so we gravity flow the water into a tank, then pump it up to site! Praise the LORD for his wonderful plan of salvation for our souls, and JESUS life giving blood! Water is very nessesary to live, and we are thankful GOD has so wonderfully supplied our need for water! We are also thankful for this generator, we don't have electric at the camp center yet, it will cost about $10,000 as we have to put in about 20 posts and the heavy wire run about 1000 ft. Please pray for us as we work to do what GOD has called us to do build a place of peace and rest, growing closer to JESUS CHRIST!

What is your day like?

Have you ever sat for a moment and tried to remember what you did today?
We get this question a lot, what is it like to be a missionary? Our day begins with the alarm going off at 5:15, putting coffee on getting the lunches ready, then Franklin is off to the farm at 6:30. He loads up the chainsaw and wood or barrel for water, fuel jugs, tools, while I get the lunches ready. Their lunches consist of rice and beans and today a fried egg! Sometimes they take chicken or ham, but always rice and beans! We pack their lunches in little butter tubs, hot and when they eat it is still warm! They break to have coffee and eat around 10 am each day!

Or what is it like to be a mission kid? Our children have balanced their role in missions very well! They get to sleep just a little longer than Franklin and then they relax around for awhile then around 10-11 we take off to the farm to help in whatever we can!
James and Mary have had a great time putting up a swing on the property camp center and raking leaves and showing their friends the swimming hole!
James wanted to cook his own breakfast one morning so I took his picture! He was proud of his eggs and toast! Mary laughed and joked with the guys they were surprised how well she worked and the fact that she was willing to go out there and grab a rake and gathering up all those sticks and leaves getting them ready to burn, to get this spot ready to build on!

SPEAK JESUS!

God morning with blessings sent your way in the name of JESUS! Our pastor in Belize Mr Calvin always said GOOD MORNING whether it was 7 am or 7pm or midnight! We have learned a lot from our pastors GOD has given us along the way in our ministry!
PRAY for your pastor today just take one minute right now and pray for him or her and remember that GOD put them in our lives! No one comes to a position without GODS knowing it and providing that person for that exact point in time!

Also appreciate your prayers for us as we minister here in COSTA RICA, GOD has called us to build a camp center for HIS honor and Glory and to encourage His people. Encourageing them not only here and now but encouraging them to step out and serve HIM no matter what.

It is here in Costa Rica!

We went to the farm Saturday morning and were met with a mudslide before getting there. Praise the Lord as we got there we got the call that the back hoe was out of customs and 3 hours later was here in Tabarcia!


Thank you for praying we have now recieved our backhoe here in Costa Rica! They delivered it Saturday here to Tabarcia! We hope to paint the trusses and do some work on the back hoe while we wait for the weather to clear off!

It has rained nearly every day, today thankfully it rained only in the afternoon. Was a nice sunny morning for church! There were only 34 children in Sunday School today, many of them walk 1-2 miles to Sunday School so because of the muddy roads the numbers were down. Please continue to pray for the mission here in Costa Rica as we listen to the voice of GOD as HE directs our path! Follow JESUS He gave His all how can we give less!

Work?

Jessica drew this picture to show a funny side she saw in her uncle Franklin!

Our team members who have come to work along side us here in Costa Rica have a different view of life after being in a different climate and culture for a week or more! This was a picture Jessica had of Franklin after following him around for several weeks working with us building various things like tables for Sunday School rooms here at the church, and preparing for our camp center.

Jessica saw Franklin build things out of seemed like nothing and every where we went we would watch for wood and tin that is thrown away as building materials are expensive! So she drew this picture of Franklin, telling about her experience working with her uncle! We enjoy when teams come and love the way they give us a different perspective on where we live and how the people here live.

Now we wear many hats during our week here and every day is different! People who come ask what is your regular week like? It seems there is not a routine, as soon as you get used to doing things one way they change and we do it different the next day!

But that is the way a life lived by faith in JESUS CHRIST is, as He leads we follow, and we try not to say well it worked this way the last time! Because in CHRIST we are a new creation so things are bound to be different today than they were yesterday,

His mercies are new each day!
