What do you do??

This is a question we get asked a lot. This job "working to help others help them selves in the name of JESUS" somedays doesn't have a title or a "DO" just a willingness to be there ready feet shod with the gospel of peace, sword of the SPIRIT in hand, Helmet of salvation on as opportunities come along to work! Just being ready and willing to do whatever whenever to glorify our LORD JESUS! !
Practical help, ministering to every person GOD gives us, encouraging, praying with, correcting, lending a helping hand.

Sometimes painting perlins!

Sometimes babysitting!

Or serving cake!

Or building a bathroom!
One thing we have learned, when we work or whatever we do we do it in the name of JESUS! Humanitarian efforts are wonderful and help so many, but JESUS said;
I AM the way the truth and the life, NO-ONE comes to the FATHER except through me.
So whether you paint or babysit or whatever you do do it all in the name of JESUS to the glory of GOD THE FATHER!

Worship and play on CHRISTMAS day!

This is the worship service with our friends from our church and from Paso Ancho and Guanacaste!

OUR VERY OWN SOCCER TEAM!
Olger our pastor is on the left end with the hat on almost under the umbrella!!
They played well but came up 2 points short to win the game! But they were happy and had a great soccer game against our friends from paso ancho. IN CHRIST we never come up short but we are all winners if we just believe in JESUS and have faith in HIM alone!

Mary's 6th grade graduation

Mary with Ania and Daniella

All grown up!

Daddy and Daughter dance!
The crew at school prepared a beautiful ceremony for these 6th graders! I have been told it was the very best this school or the high school has ever done! They had the parents walk in with their child, then Dad or Mom dance with their child. Then at the end the parents gave the diploma to their child!
Praise GOD for many blessings! Mary passed with good grades, and James too pray that they would be able to use their talents always to glorify GOD in the name of JESUS!

going bananas?

Good afternoon from the Taller del Maestro Global Outreach! This is a pretty day here seems like it has gotten hot all of a sudden! Only when it is sunny though, when the sun hides behind the clouds it cools off again!
This banana is one that grows wild here in Tabarcia! It is one of about 5 different types of this kind of tree that grows here in the area, plus many other citrus trees and even an apple tree! They call it a water apple, it isn't like the apple we know although it looks similar! It tastes more like a pear.
We celebrated a great evening of worship Thursday evening, the women of Arbol de Vida our church! We invited all the women for a special service just for women, they responded, and went away blessed!
First we had 45 minutes of worship music, Mary played the piano!
Then after that we had different people share. Roger one of our young men danced choreography to a song that talked about our faith in JESUS as Saviour! It was moving and the Holy Spirit moved us to put our faith only in GOD through JESUS!
I shared with the women about how Moses saw the burning bush and GOD told him to remove his shoes he was standing on HOLY ground, then about Joshua, he was told by the commander of the army of the LORD to take off his shoes, he was standing on HOLY ground!
So we took off our shoes in an act of faith in GOD that we are still standing on HOLY ground in HIS presence!
We all moved up to the front of our little church in our bare feet and held hands as one of our ladies led us in prayer, then asked us to pray for each lady whose hand we were holding! With small steps of faith we move closer to JESUS, all we have to do is take the first step and HE helps us as keep walking!
Our pastor closed with encouraging words from Hebrews 11, Rahab was the focus as she received the Hebrew men and protected them sending them on their way over the wall and into the forest while the men from Jericho searched the roads for them! She didn't know JESUS nor was she taught about our HOLY GOD but she showed compassion to GODS men! And so was recognised for her faith!
Let us encourage each other to keep taking those baby steps in our walk with JESUS toward Heaven, daily walking and holding tightly to HIS GREAT HAND!
Blessings on your day today as you serve JESUS!

Sideways?

Jesus bless you!

This is a beautiful day here in Costa Rica! Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving day with your family or whoever was blessed with your presence! God has created us in HIS image! You look a lot like GOD!!!!
This picture was taken by Dalberth, one of our youth here at Arbol DE Vida church. He has worked with us here at the shop in the TALLER DEL MEASTRO GLOBAL OUTREACH when we are making things out of wood. He loves working with his hands but more than that he likes to take pictures! Pray for this young man, GOD has a great call on his life. He is hoping to take some training to be a photographer. He is finishing high school going at night to like a GED class. He hopes to have his high school diploma in the spring next year.
Well we didn't eat turkey as most of you may have yesterday, we went to our pastors house and they had steak, and of course rice and beans! guess that is just as good!
We hope to eat turkey with Claudette Franklin's mom next week. She and Emmett will be here next Tuesday to be with us for a little more than a week.
The kids are looking forward to having Grama here with them for a little while.
Mary was exempt from most of her tests so she has had vacation this week! James is off today as it is teachers day!
They will be through with tests next week and after that just mainly parties etc. then their last day for this year is Dec 18. They will start back to school then the first week in Feb LORD willing.
Thank you for praying for us and giving that we can be here in Costa Rica serving our LORD JESUS!
If you would like to make a year end donation it would be much appreciated, all donations can be made out to Franklin Turner and sent to

FUZZY OR ELEGANT?

GOD is not slow in keeping HIS promises as some understand slowness! 2 Peter 3:9

HE keeps HIS promises in HIS time in HIS way, the best way!

Fuzzy or elegantly dressed?

We had both this morning! First of all I found a furry non friend in our bathroom!! I squashed him quickly!

As I was hanging out wash in the beautiful sunshine this morning I saw a toucan. He was gorgeous!

I called Franklin and went to call Mary as she hadn't left for school yet. But by the time she got outside it had flown away, and 2 seconds later I look up and there were 5 toucans in the tree right close to me!

What a beautiful sight!Mary got to see them this time! They were wonderful to look at, but of course they flew away quickly! It was as though GOD was telling us it is going to be OK, look at my creation they are well dressed, and eat the delicacies of my beautiful creation every meal.

Don't worry about what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing!

Look at the birds of the air for they neither sow nor reap; yet your Heavenly FATHER feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:25-26

These beautiful birds are well taken care of so why worry GOD is able and will do as HE has promised to take care of our every need! So the saying we have heard for years has it's reasons, don't worry be happy, IN CHRIST!

JESUS bless you today!

Jesus is my strength

These are some flowers in our yard!
Good morning,

Blessings from Costa Rica to your house! We take for granted so many daily blessings, it is so true, we don't know what we have till it is gone!

We are thankful for our family and for our church. God has truely blessed us with uncountable blessings!

Mary and James both went to school this morning at 7. Their school schedule leaves a lot to be desired, I am thankful for our vehicles! I really don't know how some parents do it running up and down with kids! And sometimes becuase they don't have a phone the teacher is unable to let them know of changes!

So today count your many blessings name them one by one, you won't have time to be sad or troubled by what you don't have!

TRAVELING!

Good windy after noon to you! This has been quite a windy day here and the Ticos are saying, Ya llego la Navidad! Christmas is here! Because the weather has changed and that means rainy season is ending and dry season is upon us, closer to Christmas!

This is a picture of the bus we take when we go out of the country to Nicaragua to renew our visas. We know these busses very well as we look at the inside of it 9-12 hours ech time we travel! That is one way! Praise the LORD HE has kept us safe as we traveled this past week and we are happy to be back home!

We have been busy this week can hardly believe it is already weekend again! Seems like time goes faster day by day! We are getting geared up for Talent Night at our church. This is a fun event we do several times a year. Youth and adults alike prepare a special whether music or playing an instrument or doing a play, and we select judges from among us and each participant is judged and the best 3 receive a prize! It is a fun time for the kids and everyone is asked to invite a friend as it is an outreach into our community here in Tabarcia. It is at our church Arbol de Vida Saturday night starting at 5 pm.

Thank you for your prayers, we made another successful trip out to Nicaragua, and our visas are renewed for 3 months again! Praise the LORD! We hope by next year possibly in the next few months to have a visa for a little longer time more permanent! Pray for this process!
Have a great week and tell someone about JESUS today!

AMIGOS!

We had a great visit with our friends Miguel and Bitinia today at TALLER DEL MAESTRO GLOBAL OUTREACH! They are a retired couple who lived out here in Tabarcia when we first moved here and were involved in our church. She was helping teach Sunday School at the church and they were always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed!

A year ago Miguel needed some surgery on his eyes he had cataracts removed. Bitinia didn't drive the car they had and they lived far up in the mountain.

So for this reason they decided to move back to San Jose where they had come from, they had been renting out their house in the meantime.

Now this weekend they were here again to do some maintenance on their house here in Tabarcia so we had a chance to catch up with some good talking and of course eating! We have really enjoyed their friendship, they are a wonderful couple and have helped us encouraging us and giving us good sound biblical counsel!

Miguels eyes are doing well now and they are happy where they are in San Jose. They have gotten involved in a small church where they live and are working with the Sunday school. So they hope to sell the house they have here in the Tabarcia area.

Pray for these wonderful people that GOD would continue to work in thier lives and ours! GOD makes no mistakes and we feel very blessed and know it was by no accident that HE crossed our path with the path of Miguel and Bitinia!

We continue to pray and look for land on which to build the CAMP TALLER DEL MAESTRO GLOBAL OUTREACH God has given us the vision for. Pray with us that GOD would continue to guide us and show us HIS vision for where it will be located! GOD'S time table is much different than ours and we are seeking HIS will in each step we take. We know GOD has just the right property in just the right location!

Thank you for your prayers and support of CAMP TALLER DEL MAESTRO GLOBAL OUTREACH!

Thank you for being a part of what we are doing by;
PRAYING for us and the people we are to minister to,
GIVING that we can live here, giving in order that the camp center would be purchased, giving in order that buildings will be built to host the people of COSTA RICA ministering to the whole family in the name of JESUS!
GOING, And last but not least, thank you to those of you who have been here or have given that others might come to encourage us and help with the work we are doing here! Thank you!

If you have not given and would like to get involved in what GOD is doing, you can make all donations in our name to Global Outreach P.O. Box 1 Tupelo, MS 38802.
Blessings in Jesus, Evelyn

mission work

Good Morning from our house to yours! Blessings and Love sent your way!

This is a nice day here we have had sun the past 2 days with very little rain it has been a nice change from rain every day!
James and Mary are off from school for 3 days while their teachers are in conferences. They are glad for a little break! They just finished test week. They are both doing well. James is doing much better now that his class has been divided. There are 33 children in his class one teacher and no aides! so now he is with only 15 children and it has changed his grades a lot and he is happier to go to school!

Mary got great grades on her tests, she may exempt from most of the last tests for the year, we are thankful GOD has given her the ability to do her work so well (in Spanish)! To HIM be the glory! Mary is involved now with the music group at Arbol de Vida, she sings and plays piano or drums Tuesday and Wednesday nights at church. We are proud that she likes to use her talents for the glory of JESUS CHRIST!

We are getting ready to be in a busy season with groups coming to visit our first vistors will be Franklins mom and Emmett! We are looking forward to having them with us the end of November! Pray for this time as they are here that it would be a time of rest for them and a great visit as James and Mary spend time with Grama!

Pray for the youth group at our church there are around 30 ages 12-25 a great range of ages, pray that God will use them in serving HIM as they grow and mature!
There is a young man who came to JESUS last year, and he feels called to work with the youth, Carlos. Pray for Carlos and Olger our pastor as they seek to do GODS work here. Pray that we would be able to help them in what they propose to do for the GLORY OF JESUS!

Thank you for your prayers and support, we do what we do because you have been faithful to do what GOD has called you to do! Praying for GODs great blessings in your life today!

Preaching the WORD OF GOD cleaning Mud!

These are some pictures we took at our church of the work we did Sunday after the flood! Those of you who have been here know it shouldn't look like this!
Gods richest blessings on your family and those around you today!
This is a dreary day here in Costa Rica. It has been raining nearly every day all day, we have been working on digging out from under the mud!
Thankfully our house at camp Taller del Maestro is in an area that is higher and is not affected by the river as much and we have been able to help others! Praise the LORD!

We were here at the house getting ready to go to church Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m. when we got a call from our neighbor Nago. He and his family have been frineds of our since we got here to Tabarcia. He called for Franklin to pray with him the river had started to come up more than they had ever seen it before! So Franklin prayed with him by phone that JESUS would give him strength and hold back the water! As soon as he hung up with Nago our pastor Olger called to say the river was out at of its banks and water was getting in the church!

So we packed up quickly and started out to church! We got to Nagos house and they had closed the bridge going down to Tabarcia! So we visited and prayed with Nago and Rebeca and their children. We came back home to wait and see if maybe the river would go down but the bridge was closed most of the night!
So about 6pm we had soup and rice ready to take to Nagos family we took it to them and the bridge was still closed and it was raining very hard! So we came back to the house after leaving the food.

We are thankful no-one was hurt here in Tabrcia as far we know! We went to the church early Sunday Morning to see if we could help! We worked together with 40 people, from our church and community cleaning the muddy mess!
It was amazing how the people pulled together to clean ur church! Praise JESUS! HIS name is being proclaimed at Arbol de Vida Church and in our lives as we work among the people here! The people came to worship and of course services had been cancelled to clean the church. Some who were in good clothes went to bring bread and drinks for everyone, some went to change and came back, some just stayed and worked in their good clothes!
We are thankful the people were very kind and worked together, as in every place in every culture there are naysayers and some even said GOD must be angry!
We believe GOD was well pleased with the offering of work and co-ordination that we gave HIM on HIS special day the LORD'S DAY! He brought much good out of this diaster and we know HE will continue to work in our lives to perfect us in the image of JESUS!

We were able to have prayer service Tuesday night and regular service Wednesday night at church! Most of the mud has been cleaned up and the wall is reinforced to help hold back the river!
If you would like to make a special donation it would be much appreciated all donations for the work here at Taller Del Maestro can be made in our name to
