GOD creation just amazes us! The fight the birds have to go through to raise a batch of young! The birds are prone to rob each others nests, and chase the mother bird away, taking the pieces of the nest to build another one of their own, the animal kingdom is a rude awakening!
Hopefully as children of the MOST HIGH GOD we will not be like the animals, but know our calling is much higher! GOD created us in HIS image! We have must have a love for one another, and not just for those who love us,
but more so those who don't; they are also created in GODS image!
This picture is off our front porch here at the camp house in Costa Rica.
GOD is amazing as we watch HIS creation right before our eyes! We have always seen these amazing bird nests in restaraunts and tourist places. So when the Orapendola built it's nest in our front yard we were just enthralled! And they have not only built one, there are 9 all together! These ladies work rain or shine building an intricate nest of thin slivers of banana leaves and other palms, then pack broken dry leaves in the inside to make a soft spot for the eggs! They work for over a week non stop building this amazing nest!
They are a large black bird with a bright yellow splash on their tail feathers!
The male bird has a trumpet voice, he sits on a branch and as he trumpets he flips over!

This morning as we were watching we noticed one palm leaf had fallen to the ground and had 2 nests still attached to it. Below you see up close what the nest looks like, WOW they weigh maybe a pound each, but the weaving is amazing! They weave all along the top of the palm leaf, these palms are completely covered in long thorns, spines more like it! These nests still had the eggs in them, James wondered if we could put them back out there for the moms to finish their job of raising these babies! When we decided that wasn't an option James put one of the eggs in a ziploc and took it for his class to look at & enjoy! The eggs are just a little larger than a robin egg cream colored with dark spashes and spots on it!
JESUS BLESS YOU! Franklin Evelyn Mary & James
